Are single people to blame for a lack of Black wealth?  Can you drive the entire Black community forward if you would sit down, shut up, and put on the ring?  Absolutely not.

When Brian asked me if I wanted a big, public display for a marriage proposal or my family gathered around to watch, I said no. I would rather it be a romantic and intimate moment between us.

Black marriage doesn’t look the same as it did decades ago, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
